Feeling the Improvements

Like most runners, experienced and novice, I log my runs. I have nothing record breaking to report, but I am happy to say I am really starting to notice the improvements in my times, distances, and how I feel both day to day and after my runs.

I am a long way from where I started. Down 33lbs, dropped from nearly 10 minutes to run a mile to running consistantly in the 7 minutes and change range, and the day to day labor of my job doesn't seem to wear on me as much as it used to.

The biggest improvement I am seeing is that many of the old aches and pains of previous damage I have done to my buddy seem to be minimized. Some on the old wounds seem to have faded away to merely occasional little aches.

With my work schedule being up in the air week to week(I was just informed I am working 10 hours shifts tomorrow through next Tuesday, yes, all 7 days) and the weather starting to turn, I can only hope that I can continue to find time to excercise and improve.

My next 5K will be on June 22nd. I will run while my brother and parents walk. I am making every effort to knock as much time as I can off of my personal record. I don't know if I cna improve enough to get a prize or honorable mention or anything, but I know my time will be the result of my hard work. No matter what the number is I will be proud to say I gave it my all.
